Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Alaska Psychiatry ("we", "us") operates an Alaska telepsychiatry and behavioral health directory. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We are an informational directory — we are not your medical provider, and using this site does not create a doctor-patient relationship.
Information we collect
- Contact form & booking requests. Name, email, phone, city, and any message you send when you request an appointment or reach out to a provider. We use this only to respond to your request or pass it to the provider you selected.
- Practice listing submissions. If a provider submits a listing, we collect the practice's professional contact information, license details, and the information they choose to publish.
- Usage data. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, pages requested) and privacy-respecting analytics used to measure traffic and improve the directory.
- Cookies. Strictly necessary cookies for session and preference handling. We do not sell personal information.
How we use information
- To connect you with the provider you contacted.
- To verify and publish provider listings.
- To improve directory quality, search, and accessibility.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
Health information & HIPAA
Alaska Psychiatry is a directory, not a covered entity, and we ask that you do not send protected health information through our contact forms. Care you receive from a provider listed here is governed by that provider's own privacy notice and HIPAA obligations.
Sharing
We share information with the provider you contacted, with service providers that host our site and send our email, and when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of information you submitted by emailing us at the address below.
- Opt out of non-essential analytics via your browser's Do Not Track or privacy controls.
- Providers can request removal or edits to their listing at any time.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Parents can contact us to remove any information that may have been submitted on behalf of a child.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit and access controls at rest. No system is perfectly secure; please don't send sensitive medical details through our forms.
Emergencies
This site is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
